D&AD Spotify Brief 2021, in collaboration with Aaron Adamowicz and Liam Maxwell-Jones

Spotify Explore is a new feature turning Spotify into a global musical treasure hunt. ‘Explore’ generates anonymous geotags for what people are listening to, which can then be discovered by other users both virtually, and in the real world. With Explore we intended to fulfil Spotify’s wish for a more social experience by representing the diverse and unique tastes of each listener in its huge global audience. Bringing the experience into the real world means that buzz and excitement is generated around Spotify and the act of discovering new music.
